About George Sykes
George Sykes is President of Wildfre Internet. He is also a Managing Broker with Worth Clark Realty in Edwardsville, Illinois, where he provides comprehensive real estate services for the Illinois 618, St. Louis metropolitan area. An entrepreneur at heart, George founded Wildfire Internet, a software development company, in 1995, ClearBackpacks.com in 1999 and Left or Rightio, a Pickleball Company in 2025.
In the 1990s, George worked as a National Systems Application Engineer for Silicon Graphics, collaborating with high-profile clients including NASA, the U.S. Navy, Fermi Labs, DuPont, GM, McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, Universities and hundreds of companies in the 3D visualization industry.
He holds a BS in Computer Science and a Master’s in Mathematics and Computer Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).
George married his high school sweetheart, Kathy. They have two grown sons and live in a home they designed together in 1990. Of course, the real bosses of the family are their two golden retrievers, Kona and Lily. Outside of work, George stays active with CrossFit, golf, pickleball, and diving deep into data analysis.
His long-term vision? Build systems that run autonomously, make the decisions he would make, and free up his day to take on the next challenge. Above all, George believes the key to success in any field is simple: learn the language of your customer and remember that people are the most interesting thing on the planet.
